Some news from Neyrinck, one of the world's more interesting software developers! Mr Neyrinck still runs his own company, he's independent, and he's a very cool guy to talk to. He provides very clever fixes for the audio, video and broadcast industry.

In case you don't know what Dolby E is, very simply it is an encoded format for multi-channel sound delivery for use by production houses when preparing material for consumption by the broadcasters (SABC, MNet, DSTV). Up until now, the only way of encoding into Dolby E was to buy a very expensive set of hardware from Dolby themselves. Now, there is a cheaper alternative. Read on!

Standalone Application & Pro Tools Plug-in set for managing Dolby E

We are pleased to announce that SoundCode For Dolby E is now shipping for Mac OS X. It can be purchased for boxed delivery or electronic delivery via an iLok license. The software includes two modules, the Broadcast Encoder and the Broadcast Monitor which operate as a Pro Tools plug-in or as a standalone application for use with Avid, Final Cut, and other workstation systems.

SoundCode For Dolby E makes it a lot simpler for audio professionals to deliver Dolby E streams and metadata now and in the future. Broadcast delivery requirements are evolving from videotape to files so professionals need a Dolby E encoding and decoding system that works for both. Many users have embraced the Neyrinck SoundCode for Dolby Digital and DTS products and now Dolby E is part of the highly regarded SoundCode product line.

Retail electronic delivery upgrade R43035 incl VAT (available to existing SoundCode For Broadcast customers only)

Electronic delivery from B A Sound means that you get the software on DVD, and the license is loaded to your I-Lok. You don’t have to make a web purchase or do any downloads yourself – we take care of all that stuff for you.

Boxed versions will be approximately R1000 more expensive and will take 2 – 3 weeks

Payment is 100% with order. Electronic delivery should be within 72 hours from receipt of payment (depending on the speed of the international bank transfer!).

Loading Software

If you would like B A Sound to load the software for you, we will be happy to do so. You will need to bring your Mac to B A Sound for 24 hours, and we will charge R855 incl VAT for this service. If you require an on-site install, please contact me.

This is a great step forward for broadcasters, as the only alternative hardware encoders and monitors are significantly more expensive than this.
