FLOWER DISPLAY AT THE PAVILION
The 8 wheel-chair bound folk from The Cheshire Home in Queensburgh had a "wonderful, joyful, beautiful outing", to quote them. The flowers, the themes, the inventiveness of the flower arrangers and an excellent lunch gave one and all a unique opportunity to feel good and fulfilled.

Only one person who is NOT wheelchair bound, but too frail to walk around the shopping centre and for whom we borrowed a wheelchair could put into words what the rest of the able bodied of us had not expressed as succinctly as she did. She said that she had started to feel sorry for herself because of her failing health, but the day in the company of all these wonderful people who could smile and laugh and enjoy life in spite of their huge disabilities, had made her realise just how much she had to be grateful for AND how much she could still get out of life.

Two school-girls, Preggie and Pinky Naidoo's daughter Davina and her friend Hianya, volunteered for the onerous task of taking care of a SEVERELY HANDICAPPED lady and did a marvellous job! When we were leaving this lady called me to say how special it was for her to have such beautiful ladies to guide her around and share all the beautiful flowers with her. Thank you Davina and Hiananya, you really made a special lady's special outing even more exceptional. Thank you too to Maureen Royappen who is not yet a Rotarian, but who volunteered to help us.

The Cheshire Homes folk and the rest of us all spent a Real Rotary Day. Many of the Rotary themes could be applied like "Making Dreams Real", "Service above Self and "THE FUTURE OF ROTARY IS IN YOUR HANDS"
