I trust that all fathers had a wonderful Farther' Day on Sunday. I sincerely hope that you are happy with the wonderful gifts you received and that you were adequately appreciated by your families.
Let us get n to serious matters. Last week on the 18th June 2009 a meeting was held at the Ennerdale Ext 9 Hall between parents, teachers and concerned citizens in Ennerdale. The meeting was to address the state of education in Ennerdale and surrounding areas. There was also a discussion on the recent strike action by SADTU and its member.
Yes, I am referring to the illegal one that had an adverse effect on exam proceedings in schools in the Ennerdale and surrounding areas. Actions such as this are not necessary and we as a community should take control of the situation. Let us all support the initiative to start the committee/organisation in Ennerdale that would address the state of education in our area. We should not leave it at the hands of a few individuals that have a political agenda and a total disregard for the education of our children.
This is a reminder that the meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday 24th June (tomorrow) has been moved forward to today 23rd June 2009. The time is 19H00 at the Ext9 Civic Centre. I urge everyone in Ennerdale to be there and play your part. Everyone is welcome as this is not about a school but about all schools in Ennerdale and surrounding areas. See more details here
