| CHEMPUTE SOFTWARE IS 25 YEARS OLD!!
Founded in 1986 in Durban, South Africa, Chempute Software has provided engineering design software worldwide for a quarter of a century. We started off representing COADE (Caesar, Provessel, Chemcad, Tower Plus, Conval, Sarval, Chemcost, Linedrop, Cond), Kesler Engineering (Kflash, Hexnan), GULF PUBLISHING (Instrucalc, Chemcalc 1-13, Pipecalc 1-3), and Icarus (Questimate). Typical PC (microcomputer) hardware requirements were XT (8086) or AT (80286) Processor, 10Mb Hard Disk or two Floppy Drives, 64-512 kB RAM, CGA/EGA graphics, and Math Coprocessor (8087 or 80287). Software was supplied in the form of multiple 5.25" Floppy Disks (sometimes 15-20 disks!), later changing over to 3.5" Stiffy Disks. Orders and technical support were done by Telephone
or Telex (fax machines only arrived around 1988). Our website was established around 1995, and was one of the first engineering software websites to
appear.
We currently have an installed software userbase of over 10,000 software licences in over 70 countries, and we represent 20 International Software suppliers. Chempute is a Global Distributor for Intergraph, Chemstations, and AFT, and some of our other major suppliers include Paulin Research, Gulf Publishing, Graitec, and Cambridgesoft (now owned by Perkin Elmer).
We look forward to serving our clients for the next 25 years!!
CHEMPUTE BLOG
Chempute Software has recently created a Blogspot, mainly for CAD related topics (at this stage). Please visit this site to view software tips, tricks, discussions etc related to software products such as Cadworx, Advanced Steel, Caldsoft, Autocad etc.
The latest blog entry offers users the option to download a free Base-Plate Drawing Style for Advance Steel 2011. This drawing style is suitable for most base-plate type details. and will dimension the holes and also the overall plate dimensions, as well as labelling the holes and column section.
