Are you Compliant?

You have a decent website. It is easy to read and navigate around but you are still getting very little traffic. Not only is this frustrating but either your message to the world is not getting out there or you business is failing. The best thing to do at this point in time is to investigate whether or not your website is search engine compliant.

Nearly 90% of all websites do not show up as being search engine compliant. This is obviously bad for business, bad for the website owner and bad for advertisers. To get your website noticed and up in the search engine rankings, you will have to make it more compliant. Websites that are not search engine compliant fail to show up on many search engines, not only Google. This significantly reduces the number of visitors to a website. If your website only shows up on one search engine and not others then you are missing out on potentially many visitors. This is simply not good for your business.

You should continuously check your website for its W3C compliancy. The W3C or The World Wide Web Consortium was created in order to establish rules for HTML. Being W3C compliant means that your website is within the standards set forth and used by the many different search engines worldwide.

A good way to check if your website is search engine compliant is through the search engines you are wishing to locate your website. Each search engine has a set of Webmaster guidelines to help guide you through the process of building a website that is search engine compliant. In addition to this, there are search engine guidelines that are posted within the community of the search engine of your choice. By following these guidelines you can greatly improve your chances of having your website being search engine compliant.

Other ways of ensuring that you are compliant is to complete an SEA (Search Engine Analysis) on your website; this is actually a lot easier than you think.

The downfall of not having your website search engine compliant is thus pretty clear. You simply will not get the traffic to your website that you are seeking.
