Daily Word – Tuesday 10 March 2009

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

[Hebrews 13:5]

Sometimes we lose sight of what God has done for us; we get distracted by the material world and start to compare ourselves with others. This soon leads to envy and the lust for what we don’t have, and we become like the Israelites in the desert, constantly dissatisfied and totally forgetful of their deliverance from Egypt.

They dismissed the fact that God was with them and never left them without His provision. Through all the years in the desert, all they could see was what they didn’t have, and were blind to the miracles happening around them daily.

If we want to come into our ‘promised land’ and not stay in ‘the desert’ we have to remain grateful and aware of every good thing God has done for us, in us and through us.  

And we need to know that, no matter how tough things may get, God will never leave or forsake us.

Remember the darkest hour is always before dawn!!!
