Daily Word – Friday 23 January 2009In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. [Ephesians 6:10] In conclusion, finally, after everything else already said, we are told to be strong in the Lord; not in ourselves, our talents and abilities, intelligence or personality, but in THE LORD! Our greatest strengths are to be found, in our relationship with Him who holds the universe in His hands. We can have all knowledge, be able to recite the bible from beginning to end, and have a life dedicated to good works, but without a relationship with Jesus all we really have is religion, and religion at the end of the day is legalistic, self-righteous, and drives us to try in ourselves to gain Gods approval. Alternatively we could be stumbling through each day feeling defeated and depressed, trying desperately to dig ourselves out of one hole after the next, when what we need to do is reach up and let the Lord lift us out. And yes I know that it’s not as easy as it sounds, but, at the end of the day, HE IS the only one who can truly rescue us. In Him, in Christ, in His love, His grace, His power and His glory, is everything we need to become everything He created us to be!!! Live in ‘CHRIST’ not ‘CRISIS’!!!! His love NEVER fails!!!!
