Daily Word – Wednesday 10 December 2008

Isaiah 31:1

    Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help,
       who rely on horses,
       who trust in the multitude of their chariots
       and in the great strength of their horsemen,
       but do not look to the Holy One of Israel,
       or seek help from the LORD.

A few years ago God spoke to me through a dream which He has been constantly reminding me about.

In my dream I found myself on a mountain and on the top of the mountain was a magnificent building shining white as if built in marble. On the road leading up to this building I saw hundreds of people in cars and on foot trying to get to the top. On asking where they were going I was told that they where going to find the Lord and had been told that they would find Him there.

Suddenly I heard the voice of the Lord telling me that I must warn these people that they would not find Him in the structures of man, and that I must tell them to follow the Lion back down the mountain to safety, as very soon He would burn up the works of man. As I heard His voice I looked up and amidst the trees on the mountain I saw this huge Lion waking down the mountain with people following Him.

Immediately I started to point people to the Lion warning them of the dangers they faced if they continued in the present direction. I continued up the mountain speaking to all I encountered and every time I spoke and pointed back down, the Lion was visible to all who looked.

Then I came to a fork in the road, and heard the Lord direct me to take the road that would slowly go back down the mountain. As I started down this road I suddenly saw dead horses in front of me. They were totally covered with long hair and I wondered what this meant. Further down I saw a group of women dressed from head to foot in black with only their eyes showing. Immediately I tried to speak to them but they appeared deaf to everything I said as if in a trance unable to speak or move.

I continued on down, my heart heavy with the thought that I couldn’t get the message through to everybody. As I neared the bottom I saw a large shopping mall. When I entered there where hundreds of people who were trying on clothes and having their hair done, with a lot of women having facials, make up and nail makeovers. All the time they were admiring themselves in the mirrored walls.  

This group too, was deaf to all I had to say; interested only in their own appearance and so I left. As I reached the bottom and looked back I saw the mountain ablaze, and then woke up.

As I pondered the meaning of this dream the Holy Spirit started to show me what it meant.

The beautiful building represents all of mans ‘works’.

The mountain represents ‘mans struggle’ to reach perfection.

The Lion, of course, is Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

 The horses show mans attempt to overcome the world with the worlds weapons and the long hair represents a false covering.

The women in black denote religious bondage, false teaching and being under abusive authority.

And finally, those in the mall show how so many people, in todays world, have made themselves their only god.

I know that the Holy Spirit is stressing the urgency of the message that we must follow the Lion and not be deceived by the glitz and glamour of mans ‘buildings’ no matter how tempting. Often these things appeal to our pride and self- righteousness but will lead only to spiritual death.

I felt that the Lord wanted me to share this dream with you all; each or us has a divine destination and the only way to reach it is to follow Jesus ‘the Lion of the tribe of Judah’.

Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals." [Revelation 5:5]
