DAILY WORD - WEDNESDAY – 26 AUGUST 2009

I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, AND HELPLESS]; I will come to you.

Sometimes I feel like an orphan; my work means that I spend months at a time half way across the world, away from family and friends, and constantly on the move. 

Sometimes I feel panic stricken, wondering whether I will ever have a normal life again (whatever normal means) and long for days at home tending my garden and spending time with my children and grandchildren. 

And sometimes I cry, forgetting in the moment how blessed I am to even have a good job, forgetting how God has kept me each and every step of the way, and forgetting that even during the worst times in the past, He never let me down, even though I couldn’t see it at the time. 

So today lets take stock, lets take a moment to reflect on what God has done for us, and lets continue to trust in His promises.
