DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 21 AUGUST 2009 

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].

1 Thessalonians 5:18 

Yesterday I battled, feeling generally low and wondering where the future would take me. My thoughts kept drifting to the negative and I struggled to remain focused. This morning I just lifted my head and asked my Heavenly Father for help, and the scripture above sprung into my mind. 

The truth is that we are not told to thank God FOR everything but IN everything because, whether it makes sense to us or not, He is still in control and He knows what He is doing even when we don’t. 

So today I thanked and praised God for this day, for this place I am in and for the people he has placed around me right now. I thanked Him for my family and for the fact that I can trust Him in their lives too. 

And so today I am at peace again, knowing that its not about where I am going but about where He is taking me!   

Stay fervently focused
