DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 07 AUGUST 2009 

THE LORD SAYS, “I WILL MAKE MY PEOPLE STRONG WITH POWER FROM ME! THEY WILL GO WHEREVER THEY WISH, AND WHEREVER THEY GO, THEY WILL BE UNDER MY PERSONAL CARE.” (zechariah 10:12) 

Wow!  What a fantastic promise. We don’t serve an impersonal God who doesn’t care a fig about us. He doesn’t say ‘well you made your bed; you lay on it’ or ‘you follow your own karma don’t look to me for direction.’ 

No! Our God not only promises to be with us wherever we go, but also that He will make us strong with His power. Not our power, not our abilities, not our talents or strengths, but HIS power. Yes, we have abilities and talents but our success is not dependant on them, but rather on being dependant on The One who is the giver of the gifts in the first place. 

I spent many years being afraid of those ‘bad days’ worrying that I’m letting God down or that I’m just not good enough to ‘make the grade’. Then I realized that it’s not about me not being good enough or making the grade, but about His goodness being more than enough for me.  His strength and personal care is all we need to make it through any and every day. 

Everything we need, to equip us for daily life, is to found in relationship with The Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
