DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 12 JUNE 2009

DO NOT FRET OR HAVE ANY ANXIETY ABOUT ANYTHING BUT IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE AND IN EVERYTHING BY PRAYER AND PETITION (DEFINITE REQUESTS) WITH THANKSGIVING, CONTINUE TO MAKE YOUR WANTS KNOWN TO gOD.

AND GODS PEACE [SHALL BE YOURS, THAT TRANQUIL STATE OF A SOUL ASSURED OF ITS SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST, AND SO FEARING NOTHING FROM GOD AND BEING CONTENT WITH ITS EARTHLY LOT OF WHATEVER SORT THAT IS, THAT PEACE] WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING SHALL GARRISON AND MOUNT GUARD OVER YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS.

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7 (AMPLIFIED TRANSLATION) 

PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING --- THE KEYS TO GODS PEACE.

There is little I can say about this powerful scripture, there is no hidden meaning, it means exactly what it says. What I can say, however, is that whenever I have felt fearful, confused, depressed or full of doubt and have decided to get into an attitude of prayer and thanksgiving, counting my blessings, Gods peace has been restored in my heart and mind, and I have been able to face the rest of the day with all its challenges.

The truth is that anxiety is born out of doubt, and unchecked, grows into a monster called fear that seeks to devour us. When we decide to ignore our feelings of doubt, deciding rather to start praising and thanking the Lord, remembering all He Is, and has been to us, His peace mounts guard over our hearts and minds destroying that ‘monster’ fear that threatens to overwhelm us.

So today have an anxiety free Friday.
