Daily Word – Tuesday 14 April 2009 

  When I was beleaguered and bitter,
      totally consumed by envy,
   I was totally ignorant, a dumb ox
      in your very presence.
   I'm still in your presence,
      but you've taken my hand.
   You wisely and tenderly lead me,
      and then you bless me.   [Psalm 73:21-24] 

Isn’t it great to know that even when we’re in the worst of places with the worst of attitudes, God never abandons us. David learnt that staying in Gods’ presence, even when He felt angry and bitter, was the best thing he could do. The mistake we make when we feel like this is that we tend to turn away from God, afraid of His disapproval, convinced that we are failures as Christians. 

David knew the greatness of Gods love, he knew that without God he had no hope of rising from the depths of his despair, and he knew that God understood how he felt and just wanted to lead him into a place of restoration and blessing. 

No matter what your condition today, no matter how angry, disappointed, frustrated, resentful, bitter,  hurt or desperate you may feel, stay in Gods presence. He’s the only one who can change your heart, turn you around and give you peace. 

Stay fervently focused,
