Hi Everyone
Some of us are starting just another year whilst for others it is the start of a new life. I trust that everyone has enjoyed the holidays. I wish that everyone will reap the fruits of all the well wishes from friends and family.
I would like to congratulate the following persons for passing the matric exams:
1. Gavin van Zyl 2. Leroy Booysen
3. Rian Ferndale 3. Elridge King
5. Lu’ Zchaine Delport 6. Bevan Smith
You have made us proud and serve as proof that you can play sport and still pass matric. This is the end of a carefree 12 years and from now on you are forced to know that your actions have consequences. If there are any matriculants out there that are still in search of a bursary, please feel free to download the application forms from our website: The APPLICATION FORMS can be downloaded by going to our website. If you will not need it I am almost certain that there is someone you know who do not have access to the internet that might want it.
We will have a very tough season because the whole country is going into FIFA 2010 mode. I do not have to explain myself. The club held 2 meetings thus far and there seem to be enthusiasm for the season amongst the players. We have set the ground rules for the season and hope to make this a success.
To the schools that will be participating in the programme set out by the GLRU, we want to wish you good luck. Most of all we want to wish you good luck in the tight programme you have making sure that you meet you obligations as far as the syllabus is concerned. Remember one thing; the kids need extra curricular activities such as RUGBY. It will do more good than harm.
At the end of last year I have had several requests from parents asking me about our development program. Please watch this space as we have decided to work on Saturday morning rugby clinics that we will definitely have this year. However, I would like to inform you that this is just supplementary to the activities that are supposed to be implemented by the schools.
If you are a member of an SGB or just a parent at a school, make it your duty to ask the school about there extra curricular policy that should include sport. Physical activity forms part of Life Orientation within schools. Question the schools and the SGB members you voted for. The SGB’s decide which sporting codes should form part of the activities, NOT THE PRINCIPALS. If they do not have any sport activities. DEMAND THAT THEY do. The schools need it, the child needs it and society needs it.
If there is anyone who would like to comment on the above please feel free to e-mail me on ranleigh@ennerdalerfc.org.za If there is anyone with questions regarding this mail me or better yet, cal the GDE, Department of Education or the President’s Office.
I wish you all the best for 2010, and to “Bafana Bafana” (The Springboks with the round ball) I wish you find the net as many times as we kick it over the cross bar.
Finally: Take time with us and say this prayer on our website for the people of Haiti.
Quote for the day: “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” Erin Majors
God Bless you
