I guess my excuse is "I've been focusing
on collecting the money….." like most in the glass industry!
One

SAGGA
CONFERENCE
For
the first time SAGGA will be hosting a conference in Durban and Cape Town on
the 23rd and 25th August respectively. This promises to
be a conference not to be missed!
Several international speakers will be
presenting interesting papers on topics ranging from energy saving solutions to
glass in architecture. This is a unique opportunity and seats are limited. A
must for all serious industry players, architects and engineers.
Despite
this being a tough market we are extremely pleased with the performance of our
new branch. A massive "thank-you" to all our new customers for your continued
support. We have received such positive feedback from the Cape market, many
saying "finally a wholesaler in Cape Town who doesn’t compete with its
customers"
It
is clear that our new customers feel very positive about supporting a leading

What
an amazing response we have received for ESG (McLam Energy Saving Glass), the first
and only 6.38 laminated Low E manufactured in South Africa!
Please
be warned, this isn’t just "another low E laminate" – ESG has been developed by
McCoy’s with Pilkington UK Technical Lab. Beware of imitations which have not
been tested, which, if used, could cause you problems down the line

product is going to be a major part of our industry, we refer to it as the "African solution to double glazing". Yes, there is a place for double glazing,
but also for a cost effective alternative!

last a product with a Low E coating and an impressive U value of 3.6 (single glazed) and

Beware
of cheap PVB laminated glass. If it’s cheap, there may well be a reason. In our market there
are suppliers currently selling PVB laminates manufactured with cheap Chinese recycled
vinyl. The law says laminates must be SABS approved, an equivalent isn’t good enough!
McLam PVB
manufactured by McCoy’s is one of the few PVB products manufactured in South
Africa which actually carries the SABS mark. This is why we guarantee our
product for 20 years. When you buy PVB, look for the SABS mark.
