OVERCOMING THE YOKE OF FEAR

Cares tear our heart apart
The definition of cares: it is worry or anxiety (through the idea of distraction) also from the root word to – divide, distribute, to separate into parts, cut into pieces; to divide into parties, i.e. be split into factions.
Webster – suffering of mind, disquieted state of mixed uncertainty.
From here you can easily see where arguments, political spirits, division and strife come from. The cares we carry are stronger than the word in our hearts and will choke the revelation of Jesus in our lives.
Luke 21:34- 36 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Therefore fear in the form of worry divides and distracts our hearts with its burden, as fear itself is a burden we are not designed to carry; its called the spirit of bondage/ slavery Rom 8: 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the
Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Anything that we are enslaved to, we will serve, God commands us to submit and serve Him and to resist the devil as we see in James 4:7 therefore we are sinning if we submit to the spirit of fear which comes in the deception of worry and anxieties. I say deception because the enemy convinces us it’s our duty to worry about certain things in our lives, like our children’s safety, our finances, what people are saying about us, our work loads, our families in general. All these things weigh us down so we cannot see the Lord.
Fear Weighs down the heart
Jesus puts cares of this life in the same category as drunkenness and carousing – as these will weigh our hearts down. This is what stops us following and seeing Jesus. Anxiety/cares / worries can cause us to miss the Day of the Lord. As cares of this life, weigh our heart down. Lets see what happened to Paul through all his trials in 2 Cor 11:27-28 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness— 28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
Paul’s burdens came on him daily because he was following Jesus. These cares/ anxieties are a weight that we either carry or we cast on the Lord as we see in 1Peter 5:7. We are not designed to carry fear – care. To make it, we are to cast our cares on Jesus, we are too weak to carry fear, only He can do that for us, as His perfect love cast out fear, as all fear comes from hell. He took our sins and all the weapons of satan.
So we can see that fear in the form or worry and cares not only weighs our hearts down it divides our hearts and tears them apart when we allow fear in, it will also lead to strife. As we are now weighed down with fear and carrying a heavy load given to us by satan, when someone comes near us and cant help us we tend to attack them, or we withdraw from them as they cause us more pain. We are not called to carry the yoke of fear.
Fear is a negative motivator and causes so much damage in this world. Love is also a motivator and will overcome and cast fear out of lives when we get filled with His love.
We cannot receive His love while we are filled with fear as fear resists love and love will cast out fear. In order to receive Abba’s love we need to cast out the fear in our hearts we start by casting our cares onto Him. As we do this our hearts are united with Him as fear separates our hearts from Father’s Love.
Watch and pray
The only way to overcome the fear is to watch and pray and to stand before the Son of Man. We are to daily come before His throne and cast our cares upon Him.
Holiness cannot come from the fear of God alone; as that will not cast out all other fears. We need both the Spirit of the fear of the Lord and love. It is mature love that casts out fear, we can only truly be Holy when we are filled with love as His love will cast out all our fears. We will now be motivated and controlled by love and not by fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Where fear controls us love cannot enter, we must now submit to love and cast the fear out!!
Freedom is only in faith, hope and love.
Many, many people leave their callings as they are not able to love and are filled with all kinds of fears; these fears are what control them and they end up submitting to the enemy of fear and not following Jesus on the narrow path.
Faith, hope and Love, will keep us on the narrow path of life.
Father, I now confess for all forms of fear in my life; worry, anxiety; cares of life; fear of rejection, fear of loneliness, fear of lack and poverty, fear of sickness, fear of pain, doubt and unbelief. Father please forgive me for tolerating and submitting to these tormentors in my life. I now submit to Your faith hope and love. I now resist the spirit of fear, worry, unbelief, doubt in Jesus name. These spirits will flee as I resist them each day.
Thank you Father for setting me free, I now release faith, hope and love in my heart and home in Jesus Name. Amen.
