Forty day fast

for Fathers Heart

We are sensing something in the Spirit at this time. We are currently standing at an open door and we need to go through this door. In order for us to be able to do this in South Africa and Africa, we need the Church to arise and for that we need Father’s heart.

The Father’s heart releases His life blood to the whole Body of Christ. He wants to connect us to the resources of heaven and disconnect us from the resources of the flesh. He is raising us up as one new man across this nation. Only a united Church will be able to destroy the strongholds over the cities and ultimately this nation and continent.

Forty years ago South Africa made world history by being the first country to have a heart transplant. Father has given us a mandate as a nation to receive and release Father’s heart to the nations. However, after eighteen days this first patient died due to the body’s massive rejection of the new heart.

Although the Church in South Africa and Africa desires and desperately needs Father’s heart, His heart faces major rejection. Therefore, the biggest obstacle we as the Church have to overcome is the rejecting of His heart.

The Church in South Africa is the light of the nation, as it goes with the Church so it goes with the nation. As Father heals the Church in South Africa so the nation will be healed, as the nation of South Africa is healed and set on fire by His heart, so this revival fire will spread across the highway in Africa reaching the Middle East and Israel, all the while making much of Africa His dwelling place.(Isaiah 19:19-25)

We feel that the warriors should stand up, through forty days of fasting and prayer, from the evening of 28 May to the 07-07-07.

Vision

His vision is to see the church as a dwelling place for God. (Isaiah 4:2-6; Ephesians 2:19-22)

To see the One New Man the corporate Body of Christ arise and breaking strongholds over cities and nation and continent. (Ephesians 2:14-16)

To see our cities, nation and continent becoming a dwelling place for God.

To see the re-establishment of the tabernacle of David which means Gods manifest presence in our lives, families, churches, businesses, communities, towns, cities, nations and continent. (Isaiah 66:1-2, Matthew 1:23, Amos 9:11-15, Psalm 132, John14:23)

Once the Church is healed then we will see the following:

We will see an end to sexism, racism; and an end to economic exploitation; an end to abuse of children and women, and an end to the crime wave.

We will now see love, acceptance and safety across races, gender and generations.

We will see relationships restored in homes, workplaces and government departments.

We will see creativity and productivity flow as we gain God’s favour for doing things His way.

We will see Gods prosperity poured out in Africa.

Red alert for Warriors

We believe the Lord is sounding a red alert and calling His warriors to pray and fast for forty days for Father’s heart to be transplanted and received in His Body in South Africa and then the rest of Africa.

SUCCESSFUL heart transplant

We need to trust Father for a successful transplant so that the Body of Christ will not reject the heart as was the case with the recipient of the first heart transplant in Cape Town.

Breaking forty years of slavery

We are looking to break with the past 40 years plus of slavery and bondage in this nation seeking Father to release a new generation to enter in and take the Promised Land in South Africa and Africa. We are now ready to cross the Jordan at the end of the forty year period since 1967.

Breaking the spirit of rejection

Because of the massive rejection experienced for a long time by so many South Africans of all ethnic groups and for various reasons the spirit of rejection has taken deep root and needs to be destroyed over the Church and the nation. Those who have been rejected will in turn reject others; this cycle must be broken now!

Releasing the spirit of Elijah

We need to see the spirit of Elijah released over our nation and continent.

Malachi 4:5-6           Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.⁶     And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.

The main focus of the spirit of Elijah is the grace for the Church to repent.

This is the primary focus of this fast.

v      Spirit of Repentance for the Church

o        We all need to receive the Father’s heart personally. This means He will remove the heart of stone and give us new hearts, hearts of love and not of anger, hearts of humility and not pride. Ezekiel 11:19                 Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, ^20 that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

o        That the whole Church will walk in the revelation of biblical sonship

§         Romans 8:14-15       For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. ^15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

o        That our hearts would break with the things that break His heart.

o        Ask Father to help the church to repent of :

§         Rejecting Father’s heart.

§         Our lack of love for God.

§         Our lack of love for each other.

§         Our lack of love for our enemies.

§         Our pride.

v      Hearts of the Fathers turning to the Sons.

o        As the fathers/leadership of the Church receive Father’s heart, then their hearts will be turned to their spiritual sons and daughters. Pray that Father will raise up David’s with His heart who disciple and nurture their spiritual sons.

o        About four months ago Chris Brochu was given a burden for the fathers to be released in Africa because the sons are crying to Him for help and fathering. Chris and Maxine Brochu from Sonship international ministries have been given mandate to reveal the Fathers heart to the nations.

o        That the fathers will take up their role as true fathers.

o        Repentance for leaders – fathers and mothers:

§         For manipulation of our spiritual children.

§         For not setting a good example.

§         For resisting our own children as Saul resisted David. Saul was jealous and afraid of David’s anointing as the woman sang that Saul had killed thousands but David His tens of thousands.

v      Hearts of the Children turning to the Fathers

o        That the children will now turn to the fathers for the discipleship and nurturing that they need.

o        That all the children of God will mature as sons in Father’s House.

o        Repentance by sons and daughters for:

§         Rebellion against spiritual parents

§         For cursing and slandering their spiritual parents

§         For not honouring their spiritual parents

There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens and great revolutions for good or evil spring up in the vacuum created by these openings. In these divine moments, key men and women and even entire generations risk everything to become the hinge of history, the pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing.

Elijah, at the height of Jezebel's cultic dominion over Israel, fasted forty days, broke the spell of Jezebel off of his own life, and received a mandate to anoint the next generation. That fast unleashed a movement that toppled Jezebel's regime of hell which perpetrated the destruction of family, the killing of innocent children, the silencing of the voice of God's people, and the widespread culture of sexual immorality. The fruit of that fast culminated in the utter destruction of Baal worship in Israel.

Also in the fullness of time, the glorious gospel era was born when Jesus fasted forty days and those who sat in darkness saw a great light. Clearly the forty-day fast is heaven's great transitional prescription, moving nations from failure to fulfilment of promise. Is it any surprise that when Jesus was to enter into His great sacrifice, where death would be swallowed up in victory, Elijah and Moses appeared with Him on the Mount of Transfiguration? All three of them were together as the forty-day fasters. They presided over the great transitions of history.

When the Israelites were poised to move into the Promised Land, spies were sent out for forty days. When they returned carrying an evil report, a whole generation was infected with unbelief and they turned their backs on the Promised Land. God's sentence on that generation was, "And your sons shall be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years, and bear the brunt of your infidelity, until your carcasses are consumed in the wilderness. According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land forty days, for each day you shall bear your guilt one year, namely forty years, and you shall know My rejection" (Numbers 14:33-34 NKJV). It was forty years of judgment for forty days failure.

Conversely, the great prophet Ezekiel received a forty-day prayer assignment for a forty-year failure of Judah's iniquity. "Lie again on your right side; then you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah, forty days I have laid on you a day for each year" (see Ezekiel 4:6 NKJV). It was clearly forty days of prayer for forty years of failure.

When Jesus fasted forty days and was tempted by the devil, He quoted from the Book of Deuteronomy saying, "It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." And again, "You shall not tempt the Lord thy God," and again, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve" (see Matthew 4:4, 4:7, 4:10). Jesus, in His victory over Satan, was quoting the Book of Deuteronomy, the portion of Scripture delivered by Moses to the generation who failed in the desert. In His forty-day fast, Jesus was clearly identifying with that passage of Scripture and that generation which came out of Egypt. As an intercessor in His forty-day fast, He was fulfilling what a generation had failed in for forty years.

In 1967, in a war and obviously by the supernatural hand of God, Jerusalem was taken and once again brought under the control of the state of Israel. This was a monumental signpost in the shifting of eras. The dispensation of the times of the Gentiles is now beginning to shift to the time when Jerusalem will become the last-day focus for God's activity in the earth. For forty days, we are joining Israel in a forty-day fast, crying out to God that they would see their Messiah and that they would begin to receive their greatest spiritual awakening since the days of the apostles.

Brothers and sisters, moments like these come only once in a lifetime. To miss such a moment could be to miss the purpose of God for a generation. The generation which refused to cross over the Jordan did not know that they had only one day to make the decision to cross over the Jordan, and missing that day meant forty years in the desert.

Other nations fasting

Even now we are receiving reports that other countries are calling forty-day fasts. Could we be in a global forty-day season of fasting like Jesus to see a global outbreak of light when great darkness is covering the earth?

Beginning the evening of May 28, we are calling two generations to forty days of fasting and prayer culminating on 7-7-07, the perfection of time, in a massive national gathering of fasting, intercession, repentance, and worship, declaring we want to remarry the Lord. We want to cross over into the Promised Land of national revival. We want to break this forty-year curse. May thousands seek God in water, juice, and Daniel fasts from 5-28 through 7-7-07, The Call, Nashville!

Moses fasted forty days and mentored a spiritual son named Joshua, which means "the Lord saves." Elijah fasted forty days and threw his mantle on a double portion son, Elisha, which means "the Lord saves." John the Baptist fasted in the desert and prepared the way for a double portion Son named Jesus, which means "the Lord saves." Jesus fasted forty days and unleashed the apostolic glory of the eternal Son of God into the earth. What if we are preparing a generation for the greatest day of salvation in history? And so, what if tens of thousands of both generations fast together and gather on 7-7-07 for The Call, Nashville in LP Field, to cry out to God in a Joel 2 moment for great national returning to the Lord?
