Seek good and not evil—
and live!
You talk about God, the God-of-the-Angel-Armies,
being your best friend.
Well, live like it,
and maybe it will happen. [Amos 5:14]
The bible refers to God as our best friend, the One who goes before us preparing the way, the One who defends us and protects us, and yet, many times, when an ‘obstacle’ appears in front of us, or when we are faced with ‘a mountainous situation’, we all too often cry out with words like ‘why am I not good enough’ or ‘why is the Lord doing this to me, or what have I done to deserve this?’ Or maybe we say things like ‘I’ve served you faithfully and now you let this happen.’
The reality, however, is that without having to face challenges we would be shallow, lacking in compassion, self righteous and full of pride in our own achievements.
It is the challenges that we face that force us to throw ourselves at the feet of Jesus, and so we grow in character, knowing that our successes are rooted in Christ and in Who He Is, and never as a result of our talents and who we are!
So today, let us remember that GOD IS our Saviour and Friend, that He has promised to never leave or forsake us, and that we can trust in HIS ability to navigate our journey though this life!
Stay fervently focused
Much love
Chrissy
