Daily Word Thursday 26^th June 2008

God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.

Matthew 5:3 NLT

I don’t know about you but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t realize more and more my need for The Lords presence in my life.

When I was younger I believed that life would get simpler as I got older, that I would grow in understanding and so find it easier to overcome the daily problems that come our way. How wrong I was, for the older I get the less I understand of this world and the more aware I am, that I can’t make it through the next day without the strength and leading of The Holy Spirit.

Left to my own devices, I would flounder and fall at every hurdle and eventually just give up, but because I know that God loves me and will never let go of my life, no matter how things may look or how I feel, I am blessed because I acknowledge my need of Him.

And so today, if for no other reason than your realization and admission of your need for The Lord, you are blessed. No matter what is happening around you today, look up, for your salvation is at hand.
