Romans 8:5-6

Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God's action in them find that God's Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God.

Self centredness leads to self righteousness which in turn leads to spiritual deafness. The only voice we will eventually here will be our own, filling us with thoughts of self importance, denying the wretched condition that we have landed ourselves in.

God centredness leads to God righteousness, which leads to the freedom of knowing that it is His spirit that brings out the best in us, and not our own self importance and good works. God centredness releases us from spiritual competitiveness and gives us the freedom to be who we are meant to be in Him!

So today be free to be who Christ wants you to be, and not what man wants you to be!
