Daily Word Thursday May 29, 2008

Well at last we are back on line (hopefully with no more problems) and it is great to be in touch again. The past few months have been heavy going with the death of my mother and moving my father to live with us etc. But here we are again aware that God is still God in the bad times as well as the good and that we can trust in the fact that, unlike us, He sees the beginning and the end and is still holding us even when its painful.

So today I feel I want to dispel the myth that, as Christians, if we are experiencing difficulties it is a sign of some sort of spiritual failure on our part. Enjoy and be encouraged --------

2 Corinthians 12:9 (The Message)

My grace is enough; it's all you need.
   My strength comes into its own in your weakness.
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size— abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

We always imagine Paul as this spiritual giant strong and invincible, unshaken in the midst of the worst of circumstances --- but the truth is that he was as human as you and I, he also experienced times of struggle just as we do, but he learnt that it is Gods grace that carries us through and not our abilities or good works.

In this life we will come across many religious people who will pass judgment over us when they see us stumbling and struggling in our Christian walk. But as a wonderful man of God recently reminded me --- ‘GRACE TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT’--- and Gods grace never fails; the best thing we can do in situations such as these is to do what Paul did --- just let Christ take over ---- we really are His masterpieces in the making, and where we look in the mirror and see failure, He looks in the same mirror and sees the beauty and righteousness of His son Jesus Christ being perfected in us.

From glory to glory He’s changing me and YOU!!!!!!
