So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

Colossians 3:12-14 (The Message)

It’s not easy to wear these types of garments in the cutthroat world of today with corruption reigning supreme in high places, but the reality is, that people across this planet are looking for a savour, a hero that will change the world.

We only have to look at the movies that make the most money, movies like Supermen, Spiderman, The Matrix, X Men etc etc, to see the yearning in the heart of humanity for a true hero, a hero with the interests of humanity as his number one priority. Even the immense interest in science-fiction shows the need of the human race to escape the chaos of this planet in search of a ‘higher power’ that will lead us out of our ‘darkness’ and into ‘the light’.

How many of us remember the old song ‘what the world needs now is love sweet love’, and as corny as that statement seems, it’s exactly what this world needs. Not a mushy earthly love that wavers according to the reactions of others, but the love of the creator of the universe, the only love that can truly change anything.

So today will you put on the garment of love and be an instrument in Gods hands to touch the lives of those around you?
