Daily Word Friday 28th December 2007 "I always wondered why somebody doesn't do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody." Jesus said that whatever we do to the least of His people we do to Him. Lets face it there are times that we all feel inadequate as Christians, that we’re not doing enough and not impacting enough peoples lives, but what we forget is that our mission fields are all around us; we forget that there are hundreds of hurting people out there whose paths cross ours each and every day. Now I am not suggesting that we get up on our individual ‘soap boxes’ and start preaching at everyone we meet, rather what I am saying is that we have it within us to demonstrate the love and care of Christ to all those that we come into contact with, from the checkout lady at the supermarket to the manager at the bank. It wasn’t what Jesus preached that won the hearts of those He spoke to ( the Pharisees were great at preaching) but rather it was His love that drew people to Him, His compassion and understanding of their needs and brokenness, and His desire to bring deliverance and healing. In the same way, we have the same power within us to touch those around us, not by what we know, not by how well we can preach but by how much of the love of Jesus we are willing to manifest in and through our lives!
