Daily Word Monday 12th November 2007

The law always ended up being used as a Band-Aid on sin instead of a deep healing of it. And now what the law code asked for but we couldn't deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us.

Romans 8:4

True Christianity is about relationship; being in relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and  not about trying harder and harder to stick to a list of rules and regulations. The only law we should live by is the law of love, and even that love is given and maintained by the power of the Holy Spirit operating in and through us.

Trying to rely on our own efforts will only result in repeated failures and disappointments, which in turn leaves us feeling unloved and rejected by God.

The truth however is a far cry from this thinking. The truth is that we are never out of The Lords thoughts, and what we need to do is simply give in to the working of The Holy Spirit, trusting in His guidance.

It is grace that saved us and only grace will take us into the destiny God has planned for us.
