Daily Word Friday 05 October 2007

Even though we had some standing as Christ's apostles, we never threw our weight around or tried to come across as important, with you or anyone else. We weren't aloof with you. We took you just as you were. We were never patronizing, never condescending, but we cared for you the way a mother cares for her children. We loved you dearly. Not content to just pass on the Message, we wanted to give you our hearts. And we did.    1 Thessalonians 2:6-8 (The Message)

Can we like Paul make this declaration?

Do we give our love and care to people or do we use the Word of God as a religious weapon, bringing people into fear and condemnation?

Do we reject people because of there lifestyle and behaviour or do we love the sinner, as Christ loved us and accepted us just as we were?

Are we full of self-importance, believing ourselves, as Christians, to be better than the ‘mere mortals’ around us?

Do we lord it over people or do we walk in humility, realizing that we are called to serve and not to be served?

Do we just want to preach at people or do we want to share our hearts?

ARE WE REFLECTING JESUS TODAY???? ------ THINK ABOUT IT!!!!
