Daily Word Monday 11^th June 2007

“…I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”
John 10:10

Jesus came into this world and gave His life that we might live and live abundantly. Our problem is that we see abundance as something material, or as the absence of anything other than happy feelings. But life is just not like that, and it is the challenges that, more often than not, build compassion and character into us.

What we need to know, is that we can experience Gods abundant life in any situation; just think of all those who have been tortured and gone joyfully to their death for refusing to renounce their faith. No one and I mean NO ONE could endure such suffering without the ‘abundant life’ of God within them.

In the same way, when we place our lives and circumstances in Gods hands, and rest in everything HE IS --- WE WILL experience Gods abundance; --- His abundant grace --- His abundant love --- His abundant supply --- His abundant power --- His abundant joy --- and his abundant peace.
