Daily Word – MONDAY 28 MAY 2007

Psalm 66 8-12

Bless our God, O peoples!
Give him a thunderous welcome!
Didn't he set us on the road to life?
Didn't he keep us out of the ditch?
He trained us first,
passed us like silver through refining fires,
Brought us into hardscrabble country,
pushed us to our very limit,
Road-tested us inside and out,
took us to hell and back;
Finally he brought us
to this well-watered place.

I wonder today where you are on your walk through this life; are you maybe in the ‘hardscrabble country, or possibly feeling pushed to your very limit? No matter where you are you are not alone, and whether it feels like it or not, God is working in your life. He has promised never to leave us or forsake us and He will (if we let Him) bring us to a well-watered place of love, joy, peace and restoration.
