Daily Word – Wednesday 25 April 2007

A grasping person stirs up trouble,
but trust in God brings a sense of well-being.
 [Proverbs 28:25]

When we experience loss it tends to make us not only hold on tightly to what we have left, but also to grasp at things (like a squirrel hoarding food for winter) in fear of lack. This attitude in turn leads to not only troubled thoughts and emotions, but also negatively impacts the people around us. We become hard and self-absorbed, and without intending to, hurt others.

As impossible as it may seem at times, trusting in God in the midst of loss is the only way to truly gain victory over despair. As we release the things we have lost into His hands, His peace will permeate our being and we will be able to walk forward and not look back.

We serve the God who is called the “I AM’; the God of today, the God of right now and only He is able to do ‘exceedingly, abundantly, above all you could ask or think’ (Ephesians 3:20) in your life.

So today, let go and let God, for no matter how you feel He loves you and will never fail you!

Stay fervently focused,

Much love,

Chrissy.
