Daily Word – Monday 2 April 2007

I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. [John 12:24]

Francois Fenelon said there is only one way to love God, that is not to take one step without Him and to follow with a brave heart wherever He leads.

Sometimes not taking one step without Him means having to let our desires and ambitions die, and follow Him blindly into the unknown. This is never easy and nearly always scary, but only when we allow our agendas to die can we give birth to Gods destiny for our lives.

When we take a stone and throw it into a lake, the ripples it produces on contact with the water spiral outwards and onwards, totally unseen by the stone that has long since disappeared beneath the surface of the water. Likewise when we allow God to take our lives and throw us into His plans, our lives will produce a harvest that in all probability we will never see the end of. When we allow God to take our lives and plant us like seeds in the soil of His love, we live to bring life to others.  

Remember, we need to let the ‘old’ die for the ‘new’ to be born!
