I think that as a Christian, the hardest thing at times is not to let the ‘knocks’ in life harden our hearts.

When we allow circumstances to harden us, we tend to build up walls that ultimately cause us to shut God out feeling that He has let us down. In contrast to this, if we refuse to harden our hearts and persevere in trusting in Gods plan for our lives, He will bring us out of the ‘darkest valleys’.

I know that for myself I tend to fear my weaknesses, wanting to hide behind  walls of defensiveness, but I have to remember that, at my weakest, I have the promise that Gods strength will be most perfectly and powerfully manifest in my life, even when I cant feel it or see it.

Also remember that hurting people hurt other people, and our responses can be the difference between healing and harm. It is so easy to hit back when others hurt us, but a gentle spirit and gentle words can bring down the hardest walls.

  Patient persistence pierces through indifference;

So today, keep going, don’t give up, PERSEVERE!
