Jake & Helene Funk learned their work ethic on farms in Southern Manitoba. Jake became an accountant because he "dreaded meeting people." Helene worked in medical records and they both studied music. "I had many business interests," says Jake, "but the income was insufficient to meet our needs. This business gave us a new hope; hope that we could pay the bills on time and a dream that someday we could be free of a boss." They pursued their new venture in earnest and it surpassed all their expectations; their two children can't even remember when they didn't have full-time parents. The Funks live in a Victorian-style residence close to the Rocky Mountains, and enjoy a breathtaking view of the ski slopes they love. They work diligently for causes they believe in. Jake flew to Moscow for the release ceremonies of the Bible in Russian. The shy accountant who was afraid of people is now a master teacher."
