Daily Word – Friday 02 March 2007

 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge,
       nor to be hasty and miss the way.  [Proverbs 19:2]

I am a naturally impulsive person, which has often got me into a lot of trouble. I have all too often made hasty decisions and missed Gods’ bigger plan for my life.

Sometimes, especially in difficult circumstances, we reach for the first available solution and end up in a worse place. I have learnt, and am still learning, to stop, take a breath and go to God first.

At other times my impulsiveness has led me to say yes to getting involved in too many projects, only to end up burnt out and unable to cope.

I have slowly come to realize that although zeal is a great thing to have, without knowledge and wisdom it can be more of a hindrance than a help.  Sometimes we need to step back and wait for the Holy Spirits guidance, sometimes God uses the pressures of life to build character in us, and sometimes we just have to take the time to wait for Gods direction before we leap into the unknown.

Live in ‘CHRIST’ not ‘CRISIS’!!!!      Believe ‘THE WORD’ not ‘THE WORLD’!!!!
