Daily Word – Wednesday 28 February 2007

 If I keep my eyes on God,
   I won't trip over my own feet.  [Psalm 25:15]

Hi everyone,

Well I have arrived back home after spending the last few weeks in Johannesburg S.Africa with my mother who has undergone a mastectomy.  Thank you to all those who kept her in prayer, she is recovering well and all the cancer has been removed.

During my time away I was pondering on the scripture above and thinking about how often in life we trip over our own feet; times when we take wrong directions make wrong decisions, stumble over relationships, and so the list goes on.  I thought about how many times I have spoken impulsively only to put ‘both feet in my mouth’.

To survive the pitfalls of our own humanity we need to keep our eyes fixed firmly on God and our ears open to the sweet voice of the Holy Spirit. Yes, in this life we are going to encounter many obstacles along the road, but we never walk that road alone; we have a Lord and Saviour leading the way; all we have to do is FOLLOW!
