Daily Word – 15 February 2007
Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you will choose life, that you and your descendents might live. [Deuteronomy 30:19] When we were born we were given to our parents, who looked after us and made decisions for us. They had the responsibility to teach us wrong from right and had to make important choices for us. Eventually we got to that age were we had to start making our own choices. It started by making the smallest of choices – like choosing to have peanut butter on our bread instead of marmite, to were we got to choose our own style of clothing and friends. When we stepped into adulthood the choices we had to make just became harder and harder. For every minute of everyday consists of choices. Every choice we make, from the most insignificant to the more complicated has all their consequences. I’m sure most of us have wished many times, that we could go and redo curtain things in the past. Thank goodness that Our Father in heaven had His Merciful Hand on our lives since the day we were born. For He knew already what choices our parents would make and all the choices we would eventually make, and even though we didn’t always make the right choices, God still walked beside us! He was the One who saved us so many times. He is still the One who saves us everyday! Let us forget about are past mistakes and focus on today. The next time we have to make a choice, let’s first think about the consequence. Let us make Godly choices and not foolish choices! “Choose my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge over Pure gold.” [Proverbs 8:10] Following Jesus Christ is the best choice you will ever make!
