Daily Word – Wednesday 07 February 2007

Don't brashly announce what you're going to do tomorrow; you don't know the first thing about tomorrow.  [Proverbs 27:1]

This scripture doesn’t say we can’t have hopes or dreams but it does say that we shouldn’t state emphatically what we are going to do and when.

When we try to make plans cast in stone, we set ourselves up for emotional annihilation when things don’t turn out the way we wanted them to.

What we should be saying is ‘Lord this is what I want to do, but I place all my tomorrows in your hands and trust that you’ll place me where I’m meant to be. Help me to be content in my tomorrow wherever that might be and with whatever it may bring.’
