Daily Word – Tuesday 09 January 2007

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. [Romans 12:2]

Yesterday I wrote about leaving our baggage behind us as we enter this New Year, but all too often the accumulation of baggage in our lives is often the result of buying into the behaviours and customs of ‘the world’.

As soon as we buy into the schemes of the world our focus changes from being on God, to being on ourselves, and suddenly without even realizing it we have broken Gods commandment (‘you shall have no other Gods beside Me’) because this world would have us believe that we need no other god but ourselves, and lets face it most of us can testify to the downfall experienced by this self-centered love!

So let us pray this year that our Lord would help us guard our hearts and minds from the pitfalls of the deceptions of this world, and transform the way we think, that we would come into the knowledge of His promises and purposes for our lives.

If you want what is good, pleasing and perfect for your life believe ‘THE WORD’ not ‘THE WORLD’!!!!
