Daily Word – Monday 18 December 2006

 God is good to one and all;
      everything He does is suffused with grace.  [Psalm 145:9 --- The Message]

Grace is a gift that cannot be compared to any other. The thing is that when we are given a gift, only if we open the gift will we experience the joy of what’s inside.

Grace is a gift that, all too often, we accept but never experience. Yes we know intellectually that grace is a free gift and cannot be earned, we know that ‘by grace we are saved and not by our works’ and yet how often don’t we get back into the old mindset of ‘I have to be doing more’ or ‘I’m not doing enough for God’ and then fall into condemnation and a general feeling of not being a ‘good enough’ Christian.

As we enter the season of celebrating the coming into the world of the greatest gift of all (Jesus), let us no longer just hold the gift of grace in our minds as a spiritual concept, but experience the joy of it transforming our hearts and lives.

It’s not about our working for Him, but about His working in and through us!!!!
