Daily Word – Thursday 14 December 2006

  We humans keep brainstorming options and plans,
   but God's purpose prevails. [Proverbs 19:21]

I sometimes wonder what would happen if we spent as much time in prayer and fellowship with God, as we do in trying to make plans and find the right answers for our lives.

And seeing that Gods Word tells us that His purposes will ultimately prevail, it seems crazy to be wasting so much time and energy on trying to find our ‘own way’ and follow a path of our own making.

And how many of us can share the futility of creating ‘an Ishmael’ instead of trusting God for ‘our Isaac’?

Perhaps we need to remember that God created time and thus is not subject to it. Unfortunately we tend to want God to work within our time frame, forgetting that HE IS THE ETERNAL ‘IAM’ and therefore exists in the eternal now, and so for Him there is no rush, for he Holds all of time in His hands.

So today, relax, give your mind a rest, and don’t run ahead, for your God knows what He’s doing!!!
