Daily Word – Thursday 07 December 2006

Can plunder be retrieved from a giant,
   prisoners of war gotten back from a tyrant?
But God says, "Even if a giant grips the plunder
   and a tyrant holds my people prisoner,
I'm the one who's on your side,
   defending your cause, rescuing your children. [Isaiah 49:24-25]

There are times in our lives when all we can see are ‘the giants’; our circumstances feel like tyrants keeping us imprisoned while ‘the giants seem to rob us of who we are and what we have.

The truth however is that God is greater than the biggest ‘giants’ in our land, He is greater than the facts of our circumstances and He is always on our side, ready to defend and rescue us.

So why do the ‘giants’ continue to possess our land? Simply because, like the Israelites, we believe the lie that ‘the giants’ can’t be beaten, and so we remain in ‘the desert’.

We need to understand that when we come into agreement with negative circumstances, we come into agreement with the enemy and so keep ourselves out of our ‘promised land’.

God doesn’t play favourites and the power of His Word is available to each and everyone of us. No matter how difficult the circumstances no matter how many times we’ve ‘blown it’, Gods love and grace are always available to us, so lets determine to believe in Him and not in what is happening around us!

Keep moving forward, for God is on your side and knows what He’s doing!!!
