Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God's action in them find that God's Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. [Romans 8:5-6. The Message]

Thinking that we can ‘go it alone’ causes self-righteousness and a preoccupation with being ‘the best’. The problem with this, is that instead of walking in love and grace we walk in pride and arrogance’ and so totally lose the plot.

Trust in God brings the presence of God! Trust in God brings us the freedom to be everything God created us to be, not because of what we can or cannot do but because of what He has already done for us, and is continuing to do in us!

Self-obsession leads to self-destruction ---- God-obsession leads to God-destiny!
