Daily Word – Monday 06 November 2006Hi everybody, the following was sent to me by Dale Heyns whose writings have blessed me over and over again. I know that what he has written here is applicable to all of us. Enjoy! Much love Chrissy Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind. [Philippians 3:13-15] Maybe we could have had a better day than we did yesterday. Could be that we could have done better. Certainly things could have gone just a bit smoother. And I have no doubt that the people around us could have supported us better than they did. But let me remind you beloved, that was all yesterday! We shouldn't drag yesterday into today; we have before us a new day to live out today. We are to use today (the present - a gift) to move forward toward the greater things of God in Christ; things glorious. This is how our elder brother the Apostle Paul saw each new day. Today is a new day! I hope and pray that we have not come into the present carrying yesterday's baggage of resentment, remorse or regret. One thing about baggage is that it doesn't move on its own. So we can leave it behind. Anyone who has ever traveled and had problems with their baggage knows what a burden baggage can be. Have you ever wished you could travel without baggage? Well as we travel through time it is best for us not to take so much baggage with us. Therefore, get yourself alone with God and let Him take those weights out of your hands and heart and off your mind. Deposit with Him all your hurts, disappointments, frustrations and your unforgiveness of others. Allow God to have charge over all your baggage, release to Him the responsibility for setting things right. "Now you are free to move about." Move about with Jesus to where you can be more of a blessing to others and to where you yourself can be blessed! (Psalm 84:5-7) The present offers us new possibilities and new challenges as well. Yesterday may have been good or it may have been bad but it's now the past. Let God hold onto yesterday's baggage. Today get into God's presence and find what you need for today. Find His strength, His grace, His favor and His wisdom. Today find God's refreshing and revitalization. It’s not too late, so today won't you find God's fresh start and His glorious opportunities for your life? Remember at His Throne of Grace, as we come to Him through Jesus, He has all these things for us! (Lamentation 3:22-23) (Hebrews 4:16) Yesterday? Today! Live in Christ! WRITE TO US AT - P.O.
