Daily Word – Thursday 12 October 2006

Go easy on those who hesitate in the faith. Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners, but not soft on sin. The sin itself stinks to high heaven.

 [Jude v 22-23]

Do you encourage or despise those who suffer doubt and fear?

Do you pursue or abandon those who drift away?

Do you hate the sinner as well as the sin?

I sometimes feel that the ‘faith walk’ is preached, at times, to the point that it seems that our success as Christians is dependant solely on what we think, feel and say, and somewhere along the way ‘grace’ is forgotten. If we forget from whence we have come, if we forget that by grace we are saved, then we will become proud of ‘our successes’ to the point that we become intolerant and hardened to the weaknesses of others.

Remember: ----

Gods love and mercy endure forever

That He is married to the backslider

That He will leave the fold to search for the one lost lamb

And that today, it may be your brother who is stumbling, but tomorrow it could be you!

Love covers a multitude of sins [1 Peter 4:8]
