Daily Word – Wednesday 11 October 2006

Peter said, "I don't have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!" He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up. In an instant his feet and ankles became firm. He jumped to his feet and walked.   [Acts 3:6-8]

Sometimes we feel that we don’t have anything to give, and yes maybe ‘our hands’ are empty, but we have the same powerful Holy Spirit in us that Peter had. So we may not be called to enable a physically paralysed person to walk; but a tender word of encouragement, a loving shoulder to lean on, may be all an emotionally paralysed  person needs to get up on ‘firm feet’ and ‘walk’ again.

So never dismiss your little acts of love and kindness as insignificant, for what’s insignificant to you maybe life changing to someone else.
