Daily Word – Wednesday 04 October 2006

Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That's why we have the saying, "If you're going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God."   [1Corinthians 1:30+31 - The Message]

Many years ago, when I was a very young Christian, I became frustrated and angry with God because things weren’t happening the way I felt they should. I remember one particular night, when I walked into my garden, I shouted towards Heaven insisting that I had ‘my rights’.

Immediately I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit deep within me saying, ‘Christine ‘a right’ is something you earn, and the only ‘right’ you have earned is the right to go to hell; everything good that you have and are, is because of the shed ‘Blood of Christ’ and the ‘Grace of God’ working in your life.’

These words stopped me dead in my tracks and I was humbled as I realized the truth, that if we have anything in which to boast of, it is in the wonder of our Lord and Saviour, and that we can rest in the knowledge that He knows what He is doing in our lives even when things don’t make sense to us.

So today remember, it’s not about who you are, but about who He is in you!!!!
