Daily Word – Thursday 21 September 2006

  If anyone boasts, "I love God," and goes right on hating his brother or sister, thinking nothing of it, he is a liar. If he won't love the person he can see, how can he love the God he can't see? The command we have from Christ is blunt: Loving God includes loving people. You've got to love both.  [1John 4:20-21]

We live in a world where everywhere we look we see hatred and wars, bitterness and resentments, and a general inability to love.

People get involved in conflict at the slightest provocation, and being a peacemaker becomes a difficult challenge.

In a world so battered by all of this, the only thing that sets us apart is THE LOVE OF GOD, and walking in His love is the only thing that will change our lives and the lives of those around us.

So maybe our first prayer at the beginning of each day should be ---- ‘Lord, help me to walk in Your love today’!!!!
