Daily Word – Tuesday 12 September 2006

Far better to take refuge in God
      than trust in people;
   Far better to take refuge in God
      than trust in celebrities.   [Psalm 118:8+9]

Today there are many celebrities in the world. We have talk shows on the television offering us advice on every subject, and yes there are Christian celebrities also giving advice and teaching. Now I am not saying that all this advice is not good but what I am suggesting is that we can become so reliant on all this input that we forget to go to God for our answers.

Yes we need each other, and yes God uses many vehicles to get our attention and speak to us, but at the end of the day, our Heavenly Father and only our Heavenly Father knows the depths of our being, our deepest thoughts, fears, hopes and dreams and He is the only one with the answers we really need.

People are able to give us temporary refuge but remember; only God can give us the refuge that lasts into eternity!

Speak to God, He’s always available!!!!!
