There are times in all our lives when we don’t always like the places God leads us to. Places of trials and tribulation often leave us wondering if we heard God correctly to begin with. But if truth be told and we stopped to look back on what God has bought us through, we would have to admit that the most character building times of our lives have been, more often than not, the most difficult ones.
Archbishop Fenelon knew this truth when he penned these words hundreds of years ago. He knew that there would be times in our lives when we would need brave hearts in order to traverse the valleys our God would lead us through. But he also knew that if we refuse to take one step without our God, we will never have to walk through these valleys alone.
