DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 26 MAY 2006

My advice to you is this: Go to God and present your case to Him.  [Job 5:8]

What do we do when we have a problem? Who do we run too when we’re in trouble? God wants us to run to Him with our problems. Often we tend to think that we can handle everything ourselves, or we think another person will help us sort things out. But the truth is that only God can save us, only He can make things better. We need to trust God in our crisis, He is faithful and He will see us through.

For he does great works too marvelous to understand. He performs miracles without number. He gives rain for the earth. He sends water for the fields. He gives prosperity to the poor and humble, and He takes sufferers to safety. [Job 5:9-12]

When we turn to God to rescue us He will help us. At times He may also need to correct us, as sometimes we can be, unwittingly, create our own problems.  But even in these times we can depend on God to show us our mistakes and heal us. He never turns His back on us!

But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the chastening of the Almighty when you sin. For though he wounds, He also bandages. He strikes, but His hands also heal. He will rescue you again and again so that no evil can touch you. He will save you from death in time of famine, from the power of the sword in time of war. [Job 5:17-21]

So why do you expect ‘the world’ to rescue you?

Look to the Saviour not the season!

Much love,

Nadia
