DAILY WORD – WEDNESDAY 19 APRIL 2006

God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. [Romans 12:6]

Every single person that God creates is given a special gift. All of us are born with a God-given talent.

Yes, God has planted a seed in all of us, a seed that we need to water, nurture and grow!

Sometimes we fall into the trap where we compare ourselves with other people. We say: ‘Jimmy is a good preacher - but I can’t preach’, or ‘Marie is a good singer but I can’t sing’. This may all be true, but remember that all of us have different gifts. We might not be a preacher in our local church or the worship leader in the church band, but we can also participate in our society bringing hope for all.

Some off us have the gift of love and understanding, some the gift of patience. Some of us may be good listeners and some wonderful peacemakers. Let us all sow our God given seeds to the best of our ability, when we do that we will all form a chain of love, peace and harmony.

So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking to you. If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching. If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly [Romans 12:6- 9]
