DAILY WORD – FRIDAY 07 APRIL 2006

THEN ELIJAH SAID TO AHAB, “GO AND ENJOY A GOOD MEAL! FOR I HEAR A MIGHTY RAINSTORM COMING!”

[1 KINGS 18:41]  

BE PREPARED!

Ahab was told to have a good meal because Elijah new that shortly, when the rain came, he would have to make a speedy journey to the mountain where he would be safe from the force of the storm.

In the same way we need to daily feast at the table of the Lord, consuming with great hunger the Living Word of God. For then when storms come, and they will, we will be strong and full of His Word, ready and able to resist the devil with --- ‘it is written……….’

Jesus set before us the example that would enable us to experience victory. When confronted in the desert by Satans temptations, He used nothing other than THE WORD OF GOD to defeat His age old enemy.

 And so too can we, if we would just eat, but instead, many of Gods precious children are suffering from spiritual anorexia, starved and weak and without their two- edged sword, and desperately wondering why they feel so tired and defeated.

So today, lets ‘eat a good meal’ lets fill ourselves with the spiritual food we need to LIVE!
